Not sure if this has been asked and answered. Tried searching with no luck.
Is there a way to receive email notifications when someone posts to a thread?

Yes, go to the little person in the upper right hand of your screen to the right of the bell.

Then go to your sight preferences.

I think it's the third one down and allows you to receive an email.

Going further down, you can set it up that you will be notified each time you come here when you have responded to or started a thread.

I hope I answered your question.

I have everything set to 'yes'. Never get emails when someone replies to a thread. What am I missing?

Unless I'm mistaken, there is no way to receive email notifications of thread replies. @dave?

The preferences shown here for emails are as follows:
Thumb of 2017-10-24/Australis/79abce

"Private message email notification" - this means that if somebody sends you a treemail (i.e. a PM or private message), you will get an email notification.

"Receive the weekly newsletter?" - self-explanatory.

Only the threads you start in the Ask a Question area get email notifications when a reply is made.

Otherwise, you can easily see new replies made by coming to the site. Click the person icon on the top right, then click on "Your Posts".

Yea. That's what I've started doing. I was used to the system on another website. It's no problem. Thanks, everyone. Thank You!

I don't think anyone mentioned that you can "watch" threads -- if you start or reply to a thread you are automatically watching it, otherwise you can click on "watch this thread" either at the top right of the page or at the bottom, below the last post on a page; then make sure you have "watcher notifications" enabled on your home page (use "customize your home page" at the bottom of the home page). Once you've done that, any threads you are watching will show up on the home page when there are new posts.
