For me, it is good to have both in my collection of indoor plants. Not planted together, but just that they are there and different. The orchids absorb some of my need to nurture so that I don't water the cactus and succulents more than they need.

This is the first time in five years that EVEY phalenopsis has a flower spike, or 2 or 5 or seven! FYI- don't leave old spikes on like I did- I am gonna have a big mess on my hands.
