I received this tree mail. Wondering what sage advise any of you might have for me. I think I wouldn't have anything with greater resolution than what they see here and also what I have has no watermark/trademark. I see the OP also bookmarked, @pirl, another photo. Perhaps she or other members have dealings with this site. Any thoughts would be welcomed. Leslieray I tip my hat to you.

Photos you upload to the site are downscaled somewhat ( @dave can specific exactly what resolution he has the system set to at present), so your originals may be higher resolution than what is visible on this site.

Beyond that, I am unfamiliar with the company mentioned, so cannot advise on that point.

Yeah the photos you upload here are scaled down to a maximum of 1,000 pixels wide or tall (whichever is larger). So your original high res versions are what they will need.

Here's a funny thing that happened to me: A woman contacted me by tree-mail, said she was writing a book on Primulas, and asked whether she could use one of my photos in the ATP database as an illustration in her book. She asked me for a high-res photo with no watermark. I sent it to her, and later that same day she tried to submit it to the ATP database under her own name. How stupid is that?!

Dave says they are reputable so I say go for it. It was my understanding the going rate was $50.

MillettePhotomedia of Canada purchased a couple of my photos a few years back. They seem to be a very reputable company and always credit the photos to the owner on their site.

I was recently contacted by someone in France saying she was a book editor for Horticolor and was inquiring about use of some of my photos for a book they are producing. She said my name would be credited with the photos and they would send me a book, once it's finished. I sent the photos attached to an e-mail but there was no inquiry for my address/mailing information so I'm not sure I will ever receive the book.
