Will it be alright to prune Knock-Out Roses back in the late fall to winter. Would 1/3 be too much? I live in Tidewater VA, (South East VA)

Most people prune roses in the late winter/early spring. However Knock-Out roses are tough and would probably survive trimming at almost any time.
