Frank, Karen and Mary, seventy five peonies just between you three WOW. Give it a couple years, spring will be a lot more awesome in your yards. I planted four in the fall of sixteen that I got at the big box store. Most of the blooms aborted this year but the plants are settling in nicely, Expecting nice things next year. Frank you are going to love Bowl Of Beauty

You picked a good one, Mike! My sister in law grows Bowl of Beauty and it has a really nice scent.

Thanks Liz! I hope some will bloom but I doubt the ones that purchased from Solaris and Adelman Peony will. They have really short stems and just a few eyes. But who knows! They had been planted over a month now so maybe they put down some nice roots. I just hope that I get to see some blooms from Pastelelegance and Blonde Vision. Just so I can get their pollen to dab onto Carnation Bouquet, Lemon Chiffon, and Salmon Dream.

WOW, that's a lot planting this Fall, Frank. No wonder you look forward to Spring 2018. I only ordered 18 this year, my back had already killed me.
Karen, you probably will surprise with the TPs from Solaris farm. I have one TP from Solaris farm blooms for me the first spring.
Anyway, fingers crossed for normal Spring weather in 2018.

We continue to have a wonderful fall. In the 40's and occasional rain. I just keep rooting for those roots (lol, no pun of course) to grow those feeder roots. Every day that goes by they should be expanding. I am so excited with my new plants. Hmmmm. So I could cross pollinate my lemon chiffon from other peonies?? Need to look into that. Right now I have lots of seeds. No idea what is pollinating them. Guess we will find out if they even germinate next spring. I took a page from Karen's book and just cut the bottom out of a large pot (five gallon), and buried it then planted the seeds inside so I can find them. I started to dig a spot and then realized I had planted daffodils there. Arghhhh! Should have marked them.

What a lot of beautiful peonies you planted! I have a few of them that I bought at box stores years ago. They took a few years to bloom, but look really good now. I got 5 new ones this year, nice looking ones that I think should bloom next year. Some new ones from 2016 didn't bloom this spring, so I may have a lot of new blooms! Nothing like your numbers, but I'm looking forward to them.

Alilyfan, I also had a few that didn't bloom. They had been moved once or twice and were not too big to begin with. I am hoping that next year, the third year in their present spot, they will at least bloom enough to verify the identify. In moving them, I have a choice of three cultivars they might be. lol

I planted super late last fall, had to pre-dig the holes and store the fill dirt, covered the holes with plastic so I wouldn't have to dig ice and snow out of them. Never again (at least until I look at the deals you guys mentioned....)!!!
