Well Drat!! I found the deals forum easily enough and went to look at Hollingsworth. Double drat. I bought Solage. I had bought it for the botanical garden this year and was really interested in it after reading about it's history. Now I just have to pray our weather holds out. I think I will dig the hole now. I am really pushing the season. To say nothing of trying to figure out where to put it. Triple Drat!! But thanks Frank. lol

Yes I hope so. It is a particularly noted heirloom though it can be problematic according to some growers. We will see. You know what is interesting? I was writing down the bloom weeks for those plants at Hollingsworth that I have. Invariably the ones that they note as late bloomers are among my earlier ones. Strange. Like Festiva Maxima and Sarah Bernhardt. Both bloom well before several others that I have that are reputed to be early bloomers. Guess it is just our weird weather. Oh, and they are located in a spot that gets sun later than many others.

We're supposed to have daytime temps in the 50s for the next 10 days or so, plenty of time!

Oh Caroline! That is sad. I can't stand it when Winter comes and daylight saving time ends. 😖
I am being good and avoiding the sales so far. But there are some bargains out there!

I totally understand, LG. By the time you get home from work, it's already dark out.

Leave for work in the dark AND return from work in the dark. Definitely not my favorite time of the year!

I agree it is definitely not the same. Dark and cold is not my cup of tea but it certainly is good weather for hot chocolate. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Hooked on Starbucks here! lol 3-4" snow and 30F. Wet heavy snow. People are driving like idiots so I am staying home. Studs go on car today.

I dug the hole for Solage yesterday, raked up a bunch of leaves. Soil from hole is in garage nice and toasty just waiting for root from Hollingsworth.

You folks are suffering from OCPGS, Obsessive Compulsive Peony Grower Syndrome. Planting peonies in the snow and breaking through frozen soil to dig holes. Now is the time to turn on the heat, get out all the winter blankets, stock up on your favorite beverage, and get caught up on your rest to be ready for next Spring.

Just about there Jerry. One more plant to put to bed and then it's feet up, review garden set up, watch for moose to pot with my bee=bee gun, and snuggle with a nice fume blanc. Or B52 coffee.

I had to check the ingredients of your B52 coffee. Sounds like a good belly warmer for a cold night.
