![]() By Aguane | If you're opposed to wearing gloves for light tasks and don't want to harm your manicure, draw your fingernails across a bar of soap, filling the nails so they can't get dirt into them. [View the item] |

Just need to keep the bar of soap in your handy garden tool kit to keep your fingernails full of the soap during the work day. “Don't give up too quickly"... unknown, I heard it somewhere. ~ All Things Plants, SOUTHWEST GARDENING ~Cubits.org ENERGY & POWER |

Susie: Thanks for sharing this tip! I've done this in the past and it really is a great help when the time comes to wash your hands after gardening! I kept a bar of soap in my basket of gardening tools on the deck for a long time and need to do it again! I would actually dig my nails into the soap, making sure it was deep beneath my nails ... it's so much easier than having to use a brush to scrub and scrub trying to remove the dirt beneath the nails! ~ I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt! ~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot! |

Never heard this one before , sounds like a good idea for other things to like working on small engines from the power equipment to keep the oil and sludge out. |

The soap thing works. There is also a product called Yard Glove that is like a lotion going on, it forms a barrier so your hands and nails clean up really well after a dirty gardening session. |

I think auto mechanics use a product called GOOP that does the same thing, chickadee “Don't give up too quickly"... unknown, I heard it somewhere. ~ All Things Plants, SOUTHWEST GARDENING ~Cubits.org ENERGY & POWER |

The product I've had around is something like "Liquid Glove". It works too if I ever remember to use it. Keeping a bar of soap around is a great idea and might be a good thing to do with the bars that are getting too small. But I'm a musician; so I don't have much in the line of fingernails anyway.
