|I have a "Dwarf" Seckel Pear Tree and have not been able to harvest and pears from it due to a blight.
The pears get black and crack and become worthless.
The 2nd - 3rd year after planting, I got edible pears from the tree and they tasted like honey and I couldn't wait for the next year. Unfortunately, that was the last time I was able to get any edible pears from the tree.
As for it being a Dwarf Tree, it grew to a height of 30-35 feet and I have gut the center out of it twice trying to lower it.
Can you tell me if the damage is being caused by the blossoms becoming infected and how I could treat the problem.
I don't want to use chemicals that could be retained by the fruit and eaten.
Your help is appreciated.

|In my 35+ yrs of gardening. The only thing for blight control is dormant spray.
Anything i say, could be misrepresented, or wrong.
