I went to the nursery today, just to look around because it was a warm day. I did see one Monarch, but it didn't look it was very likely to make it to Mexico. One part of its wing was injured or something and it didn't fly up even when I got pretty close...it was on a butterflybush. Otherwise, there were only a couple of Queens. I had raised one Queen cat and it is now a crysallis. A gorgeous Bluejay was up in a tree and I saw it swoop down for an acorn once. Must be migrating.

Thank you, Mac. And Josephine. *Blush* But I'M not amazing; the butterflies are. Luckily I live in an area on the migration route, have a garden with established nectar plants, own a pretty good camera, and have plenty of free time to wander around looking for interesting birds and bugs. I feel very fortunate, and it gives me pleasure to share my photos with others on this site. I hope I don't over-do it.

The white mist flower is another section of the yard that provided lots of activity yesterday.

This thread is so cool. Beautiful images. I found this Ceraunus Blue on The Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, and it's the only place I ever see them.

It is still warm in south Louisiana and I am seeing mostly Gulf Frits, a few Sulphurs, and a few Giant Swallowtails. I took a picture a two Gulf Frits engaging in a mating ritual (?). One butterfly is stationary while the other flutters above.

@anole, sometimes butterflies have an agenda that prevents them from posing for pictures. Whistling

Monarchs and Queens are easy to photograph. Swallowtails are....well, "fluttery". But the little yellows present the greatest challenge for me. Chasing them around the yard is tiring because they're hyperactive and don't sit still for long. Hence my not-very-good captures of Sleepy Orange. Strange name for such an energetic little butterfly!

These are so cool Char. I have never seen them before. Living in Florida offers lots of things that fly. This little Black and Yellow Striped Butterfly is fun to follow when they appear. Smiling

Thank you. Hopefully we will have them a bit longer this year, with the above average temps. I love that little Sleepy Orange you shot. The Zebras are a bit slower... Smiling Hilarious!

I've got a Queen just eclosed this morning...wondering if I should keep it in until tomorrow. No 80's predicted here, but might get to 80 or so in S.A. next week. I've got two little Queen cats also I'm raising on A. texana foliage. How strange I haven't seen any Monarch caterpillars. I finally took down the hummingbird feeder...so sad to do that. Well, at least the birds won't leave.
