Welcome!
Hello ,Maureen,

Hypericum 'miracle' can either be pruned lightly (by about a third) now if the berries are withering, or pruned hard back in Spring as new growth starts to show.
Laurel, being an evergreen, is pruned late Spring/ early Summer - use secateurs not shears to avoid ugly pruning cuts to the foliage.
Magnolia and Acer palmatum only need pruning if there is damage to the branches, or branches are crossing. Springtime after flowering (the Magnolia) is suitable.

Hope this helps you
The garden, where my mind goes to seed.
