I bought this enormous seedpod at a Florist shop, I will use it to house some of my Air Plants.
When I got it home, I realized there were still two seeds inside, each attached to a bright red-orange fibrous material. I am curious what plant this is from. It could be from anywhere. I thought I might offer the seeds in the seed swap this weekend.

Thanks!
I had a Bird of Paradise as a houseplant, I had to get rid of it when it became 1/4 the size of my dining room. It flowered occasionally, but never developed any seedpod (lack of insect pollinators in my dining room I guess). Now I sure wish I had pollinated it myself!
