Could we add Breeder and intro date for dahlias?

Might also consider add ADS code

Here's the size and form chart that ADS uses.

for example AA SC LB is a giant, semi cactus with a light blend color.

Most suppliers in the US use these codes.

We can ask Dave to add fields for Year Introduced and Hybridizer or Originator. I've looked up several cultivars on the ADS site but none list this data. Do you have a link with this information?

Thanks for the link Frank. The three existing custom fields (form, color and size) appear to be set up per the ADS definitions so adding the codes/abbreviations to the end of the existing descriptions should be easy. I'll work on that.

ADS has recently changed their database and have eliminated information on breeder and intro date as well as award data. I am not sure why they did that.

Also, ADS does not list dahlias that have not been "shown" in the past year, so many dahlias drop off their list.

There is a "text" database in the UK that contains a lot of info... I use it, but many of the US dahlias are missing

http://www.dahliaworld.co.uk/d...

There does not seem to be a good online database for dahlias, especially the new introductions.

BTW, ADS is really focused on "showing" dahlias and not on gardening...

I notice some entries have a country entered after the hybridizer's name. Would you like Country of Origin to be added @frankrichards16?

I notice that the ADA and many growers mention this info so why don't we just add it.

Dave, Please add Country of Origin with a write box after Year Introduced. Thanks.
