I just looked up some info on a dahlia on the ADS site and it seems that they have eliminated most of the data for a given entry.

Specifically, they only list the name and classification.

No info on breeder, intro date, awards and so on.

anyone else notice this?

If I remember correctly, the ADS publishes a handbook every year with detailed info. However, I believe that if the dahlia was not shown (the previous year) it was not included in the handbook.

I go there religiously and have for years. Don't think I have recently and haven't been ordering too many new dahlias. Will go take a look. I also like to include the intro date and breeder name in my database, along with time of blooming, form, class, etc. I also try to remember to measure height and size of bloom in my garden, not just what the online info says as it varies a lot by locations.

Just looked. Many that I wanted to look up said they couldn't be found. What's up with that?

I think that if a given dahlia is not shown in competition, it is dropped from the database.

The ADS focus is on "Dahlia Shows," not garden dahlias.

Huh. I have found most all of mine at one time or other although there have been some "no shows" ( lol no pun intended) over the years. Stuff from a box store usually.
