I have my glasses on, and while they do kook alike at first glance, the one in SD looks to have teeth on the leaves, while the Portulacaria has smooth leaves. Hard to tell from the photo.

DD spotted it while hiking. Agree. It's a lousy photo! But yes, it was growing wild.
