With $17 for shipping it's worth to buy either few or very expensive peonies. I am done with both of these so far Smiling

I winder if anybody is going to buy or has already Quitzin. People say it's gorgeous but... extremely expensive!

I don't find it attractive and certainly not worth $350. Lemon Chiffon was that much when I bought it but now you can get it for around $85 or so...

I got Quitzen last fall. I'd seen it in a listing of Fawkner's introductions the previous fall and was very curious about how it would perform. Was very glad I took the chance on it after seeing it bloom in person at Chotkowski Gardens a month or so after putting in the order. Henry did tell me he didn't think it performed as well in colder climes....
I did get a bud this spring but it didn't make it to bloom, maybe next year.

I looked at the web site about 3pm and thought I might be interested in Sugar Plum Fairy. I went back at 5pm to make the purchase and it had been removed from the list of available plants. Maybe next year.

Liz, did you order from www.speedcloud.com? Just curious, how much was Quitzin? And shipping from Sweden? I don't plan on adding it to my collection, just planted expensive Pastelegance.

No, I got Quitzen from Hollingsworths the first year it was offered. The only way I've ordered from Europe was thru the growers who send to a single distributor on the states who then repack and ship to individuals, like The Peony Shop, and the price of the phyto cert and shipping to the US is split among many.

Liz, would be interesting to get your opinion on how Quitzin performs for you. I'll wait until it is less expensive Smiling
