My landlord gave us this plant when we moved in and I'm terrified of killing it. Can someone please tell me what this is so I can look up some care instructions.

Hi Indicative. We need to know where you are located, no details, but Florida, or Alaska? and if you have any clue the care recommended.

Hi Indicative.

You get more replies when you give us an idea of your climate, but giving a vague idea of your location.

It looks a bit to me like a bird of paradise, but it's just a guess.

Hello,

I live in Melbourne, Australia. Bird of Paradise is a pretty popular plant in Australia so that makes sense. I've looked up some photos online and it looks like a match!

Hi Indicative, Welcome!

I agree, that appears to be a Bird of Paradise. We have 9 listed in our database where you can view photos as well as growing information: https://garden.org/plants/sear...
