Need some ideas on what to plant/incorporate into back yard, would appreciate your input. Located in Maryland, near Washington DC. Picture is taken facing North.

Welcome! @Johnjohn. Welcome. The back yard is a beautiful clean slate. It has the potential to go in any direction.

Well, I will try to rally some troops John. It's a slow weekend with the holiday

You will get answers that are specific for you by providing a general idea of your location. The problem is you could be in Florida or Alaska. People will flock in to suggest as soon as you add that detail. I am excited to see what you do to this absolutely wonderful area.

Thanks for the tip!

I am popping in to keep this on top for some posts. John, Do you have any plants in mind. Do you have favorite plants or do you need to see some ideas. Can you id any plants in the beds already, so we know what we are working with. For people looking at the photo, it's actually a decent picture if you click on it. John, could you take a picture of the other side of the yard we cannot see.

I am very new to gardening and don't know much. Along the back wall there are some rose plants that are not fairing well. Low maintenance plants would be ideal, no particular plants in mind. Thanks!
