This is the 3rd fall where dh failed to pick out the downspout converter he prefers, so I can get a rain barrel up for the houseplants.
My spider plants and fern are due for water, and my tap water browns their tips every time. It is loudly raining sideways outside, what else is new. This is going to be fun.
It takes just few minutes to fill a bucket the way it rains here, and I go as fast as I can, But the downpour soaked me completely, even the bottom of my socks are soaked. Coming inside the garage, I realize I cannot walk over the wood floor and carpet this wet, I rip off my soaking wet clothes, hopping and struggling as they fight to remain where they are. I throw on the the only option I can find., a short dirty garden jacket.
My face and fingers and toes are bright pink, I shiver a little as I I walk by my dh. Who is looking like a Norman Rockwell painting in his cozy slippers, leisurely sipping his hot coffee, reading his sunday paper. I look like I have just fallen off a boat.
Wearing nothing but a short dirty garden jacket, as I pass him, I hear a little giggly "WTF."
"Really, you better not…….……..I turn to him, and as I do we both turn our heads. "What is that sound," I ask.
It's a loud little splat splat.. splat splat noise.
We both look to the floor, My soaking wet hair is so soaked it's dripping, and literally making a puddle on my carpet. My foolish warm dry man, sometimes known as empty promises; begins to laugh, it's so funny he cannot stop. "you should just see yourself he says"............ WOW... I have no comeback for Mr Smoking Jacket. Instead I lean over him and vigorously shake my head like a wet puppy, I shake my hair wildly from side to side. I learned this makes me a lil dizzy now, but it was still worth it. He is well splattered in a nice even wide pattern, his glasses are useless, and that paper is going need some time to dry. I toss him a towel to dry off the couch, and I feel marvelous.
