Amaryllis Irises Native Plants and Wildflowers
Now that it's cold, I appreciate all the pictures of flowers that I took in the spring. Weird thing is, I found way more pictures of Iris versicolor than of the other irises in my yard. I don't remember being all that impressed with the plant, but the flowers sure do show up well! Do you grow any verses (?!) in your yard? This is the common plant that I picked up at a native plants sale, but now I'm interested in the named hybrids as well.

They are pretty Tienito. Do they flower at the same time as the bearded irises?

I don't have any I. versicolour, but looking at your photos, I'm thinking that needs to be corrected! Thumbs up
Of course I talk to myself; sometimes I need expert advice!

They generally start blooming towards the end of the TB season. Under ideal growing conditions, they can have a long bloom season compared to bearded irises so might still be producing flowers for a few weeks after the TBs are done.

What Kent said was exactly the case for me. They started blooming as my TBs were wrapping up, and did have a long season (for irises anyway!).
