I was on Facebook last night and saw a peony that I'd never heard of before called Blush Queen. Did an internet search and only found it on a few sites in England, no shipping to the US. Then I noticed 1 single company in the states that claimed to carry it, Leafari. Their description and history of it sounded right so I took a chance. Here's the link if anyone's curious. https://www.leafari.com/peony-.... Their last shipping date for peonies was supposed to be yesterday but, when queried, said they were still mailing because of the mild fall so far.

The pics of it on Facebook were gorgeous, hope it's the right root. I'll post pics of it when it gets here.

It would be interesting to see its flower also when it blooms, Liz. This variety is in Carsten Burkhardt's database and the pictures are nice!

They have 4 reviews on DGW. All positive.

Rolling on the floor laughing Liz I thought you were cutting back! .... I'm seriously thing about ordering it, too.

I do plan to cut back! But that one is not typically found in the US, I've never seen it offered, so can't resist seeing if it's the right variety! The Facebook pics were so gorgeous....think I'll find them again and ask the poster if they mind if I share the pics here so everyone can see why it caught my attention.

Yes, Liz, please post those pictures. The ones I saw were of a "typical" gorgeous blush peony, no doubts - wonderful flowers!

I will! Haven's seen a shipping notice but not sure if this company sends them, I'll just keep an eye on the mailbox. Supposed to start getting colder as of Monday but no snow in the forecast--hopefully the weather will hold until I get them in the ground!

So gorgeous Liz! Blush/pink is my favorite peony color! I hope that you will get the correct plant, Liz.

Kind of reminds me of Raspberry Sunday but without the distinctive center.

From the number of similar peonies in the major catalogs, I wonder if they are just different mutations from the same cross.

Funny, I actually have all of those. It'll be interesting if all of them bloom to see if they are as similar as they look...I'll take a different bloom date with the similar look any time! This one is supposed to be a lacti so should bloom later than Lavon and My Love, think they're both hybrids? Swore I'd stop buying late bloomers....

Raspberry Sundae is lacti but I was surprised to read that Lavon and My Love are of lacti group though their parentage is Nippon Gold x Cytherea for the first and Moon of Nippon x Cytherea for the second; it is said "Lacti type of hybrid origin" in the APS registration. How is it possible to be lacti type with a hybrid as a parent?

I would think if they breed two lacti types then they are lacti hybrids - inter species. If a hybrid between lacti and some other species, then plain old hybrid where they have to list the parentage. my guess.
