Hello everyone. I really think things are going back temperature wise here to the way they used to be. Cold by the middle of September here and ready to plant gardens early February. It has been a long time since you could do that here but that is the way it used to be. As an ole timer I remember the cycle of Dads planting. February 6 potatoes 7 snap beans and we were eating them by Easter. If we have our used to be normal summer rains most days this summer instead of drought I will know I am right. The grass is greening up now, and the trees are budding out too. So I think it is surely Spring on the corner. Its worrisome to me. I have some clems starting as well as small leaf buds. I believe the plants wont be fooled tho. Daffs are comming up too. No other plants are showing any movement. |
I have not wandered back to check the hellebores.. guess I should |

I've seen daffs up here, too. We really haven't had a winter, but that's OK with me. ![]() Karen |

My hellebores have had flower buds on them for at least a month. H. foetidus has some open flowers also. My flowering quince had a fully colored bud since before Christmas and now they are all touched with brown. Not sure I'll see that one open fully. Winter Jasmine has been blooming since fall. |
just amazing Loretta |
wow I am shocked!!!![]() |

and that spot only gets morning sun.. can't be too warm there.. all the others have a couple of buds that look like they were frost bitten already or didn't have anything.. but just to see any sign of life out there now is a shock to me |

That sounds like an early Spring is surely on the way for everyone. I saw the first Robins today which is another sign of Spring here and the usual black birds migrating back north. They come through here in large groups dip down in the pasture for snacks and then are on there way...where ever. I woke this morning and as I was doing my usual slow wake up.....I saw out my window the Robins, Cardinals, a Blue Jay a wood pecker and numerous squirrels in just a matter of minutes. It was so nice to see them. I just love Spring. It makes me happy. Have a great day tomorrow and I will check in again soon. I cannot wait to put in the coleus. I managed to save three types this year. I planted them in dirt but still have them inside to watch for a while longer. shirleyt shirleyt wanna be artist bad visit me at Beginners At ART [url=http://cubits.orgshirleytBeginnersAtArt] shirleyt Beginners At Art |
