Being new here I am so very happy to have found this site. I look forward daily to interacting with fellow gardeners/farmers. Everyone here have been so kind, friendly and helpful. I look forward to future interactions and would like to take this time to wish each and every member of this organization a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a VERY JOYOUS NEW YEAR! Group hug

Yes, something is missing. Makes my post look out of place, doesn't it?
I will leave this thread now as it does not include everyone who celebrates at this time of year.
Have fun.
Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

I guess I don't know what disappeared. That's always a bit off-putting to me, and makes it hard to follow the conversation. Oh well. Greene, if you're still here, I didn't think this was exclusive but I just recently jumped in so who knows.

Hanukkah started yesterday I believe, my neighbor makes the most yummy food during the week. Happy Hanukkah to all. I admit to not knowing the biggest day of the week. So enjoy them all.

I worked closely with a Jewish man for many years and always quizzed him on the meanings and traditions of his various holidays (they have a LOT of them) at our Friday office lunches. He was never real forthcoming, just kind of brushed them off as 'minor' holidays. Sometimes he'd tell the back story, but not often. Often while munching on a combo pizza, definitely NOT kosher...

Meanwhile, Happy Hannukkah to those who celebrate!

Yes, Happy Hanukkuh I tip my hat to you.

Too early to put a Merry Christmas but I do say it to merchants, and phone marketers, and listen to see how many say it back or will say -- same to you -- or the pc happy holidays.
About one in five will say will say Merry Christmas back and some times the least expected.

I generally respond to whatever greeting I get with, 'Thank you and same to you.' Inoffensive, non-judgmental, and friendly. 'Nuff said. My greeting of choice, if I'm the initiator, is Happy Holidays. I've used that forever, way before it became a 'thing.' Seems to cover it all. Go outside and watch for meteors tonight if you have clear skies.

Even though I'm Jewish, I have the inside and outside of the house all decked out in Christmas lights, however, each night I have been lighting my menorah and saying the prayers. So I celebrate both. So whatever you celebrate, celebrate it safely and have fun. Don't drink and drive, please.

I guess another Christmas wish I have, would be that my birthday wasn't so close to Christmas as it is. Something seems to be lost in being another year older, due to the craziness of the holidays. Everybody always combines my birthday with Christmas and I wish I could change that. I like to think of it as sharing my birthday with the heavenly father.

Merry Christmas, Maligayang Pasko, Malipayong Pasko, Kurismasu Omedeto Gozaimasu, Buon Natale, Happy Holidays, Feliz Navidad, Happy Holidays to everyone!

In whatever manner, reason, time you celebrate it, enjoy the feeling, share the blessings of the season with family, friends and less fortunate ones. This is a bittersweet time of the year for me, the time of the year we lost our mom two years ago, remembering her fondness and love of the season, when the celebrations remind us of loved ones no longer around, keeping the family together in our hearts and memories.
