This is it for now. I will see what is "missing" from our database in the "Historics" section next week.

These should all be available from Superstition Iris Gardens as I pulled the pics from their Facebook page/site. So if you see something that tickles your fancy, don't wait as they may run out!

What/which ones listed here are you "fancying" (new word/verb)

Greg ~ I can't buy every single iris that "tickles my fancy", as I do not have the room for them all. I am just getting started in growing irises as a serious hobby. Previously I put irises in my perennial and mixed beds as a compliment to all my other plants.

Now l have a dedicated iris garden with 8 rows, using currently just 4, as well as 10 raised beds and 4 large pots, as well as 2 more large beds to be dug.

These are all within a fenced garden area, due to a voracious horde of deer that browse the property on a daily basis.

And now I plan on hybridizing irises... I just turned 76 in November! I hope that I live long enough to get anything worthwhile.
Pretty crazy, huh? nodding

I added Pewter Treasure, Air Hogg, Platinum Passion, Ever Clever, Cotillion Gown, Empire Strikes Back and Rainbow High. Unfortunately they don't know if they'll have enough Pewter Treasure to sell so I'm just on a waiting list for that one.

Like you, Evelyn, my advanced age makes me wonder if I'll live to see some of my planned crossings! But when I stop to think, I have to remind myself that age is just a number.I've been blessed with good health - and except for some arthritis, have no complaints.
HOWEVER... time is a factor in my choosing new irises. Do I pass up that gorgeous new $50 intro in hopes that it will be offered next year for perhaps $35...and will have to wait 3 or 4 years to see the results of a cross?
This has been my rationale for a few intros purchased this year. Whistling

Happy Birthday, Evelyn!

Thank heavens I already made my order! And that order was added on to at least three times. I will pretend I can't see further temptations...
Hilarious!
