I planted some apple seeds and a plant started to grow. Is this a picture of an apple tree? If this isn't a good picture let me know what you need exactly. Thank you pugsy

Welcome!

I'm a little confused about the growing in water part. We can't see in your photo what your apple tree is growing in. We probably need a little more information from you before we can answer the question.

What is the question? Why did the tree grow new leaves after losing them in the fall? Or Why can't I grow an apple tree in water?

Taking a guess at what you are asking: If your tree was outside and now its inside, the tree thinks its spring and putting out spring leaves.

Any plant can grow hydroponically with proper nutrients.
