We love to talk about all aspects of weather, the effect on our gardens, and on our lives. It's a good place to keep a record of weather in our gardens from year to year too, so for that reason let's try to stay as close to the topic as we can. Please join us and tell us about your weather.

Clear and cold this morning with a temp of 13. Should be sunny but I don't expect it to warm up today as much as it has earlier this week.

Welcome winter.
Currently it's 35 with a high of 58 today. We have a chance of rain on Christmas Eve. It's only rained two days so far this December, and one of those days we didn't show anything in our gauge. Sighing!

A slight chance of snow between 8 am and 10 am, then a chance of drizzle. Cloudy. NE wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Barbara,
I am SO glad they fixed whatever made my fonts wrong and pictures stretched because I didn't know what to do.

Margaret,
Snow is only nice when it looks like a snow globe when it's coming down.

Jeanne,
I'm still hoping for a white Christmas down here.

Dana,
Aw, I'm sorry you didn't feel good. My sinus stays in my head and sometimes it pounds at it's worst. MyPurMist and the neti pot are my go to's.
Head colds went around here too.
Beautiful, bright, cheery berries!

Valerie,
I hate slush too.

Morning Barbara!

Sara came yesterday after her Dr. appt. confirming strep throat. She caught it early so she didn't feel too bad. Just a very sore throat.

We wrapped all the gifts she had sent here and brought with her. It took a while, for four kids and the nieces and nephews. But, I got to see what she got everyone.

I agree I have lots of Winterberry in my garden here were I can easily see it out my back window. Can sit at the computer and watch the Mockingbirds come eat the berries. By Febuary there are no berries left. If it's a harsh winter the berries go much faster.

But they are so pretty and cheerful.

Chilly out today. About 34 degrees. Was warmer yesterday.

We are due to go down to 28 or 29 tonight. A cold front is just coming in and it is windy. Been pulling sensitive plants up to the patio. Crying

Beautiful picture, Char.

No precipitation today at all. Maybe over night we could get a little snow. Now I don't want it cause I have to drive to the Chiropractor in the morning and then to get new tires on the Equinox in the afternoon. I really don't like driving on snow packed roads if I can help it.

High today was 78 and low was 64. Lovely weather. Had 10 min of rain this morning, but everything is looking good! Love living in beachside Central Florida. In the winter we are warmer and in the summer we are cooler because we have water on both sides. The island is 3 blocks wide at this point. Very moderate weather.

In the shade bed, I've finished cutting oak sprouts, pulling weeds and vines and removing twigs/bigger stuff that came down during the hurricane. It looks beautiful now and I can enjoy it! I've gotten all my self appointed tasks done and can enjoy the holiday weekend. Wonderful!!!

Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy your snow and I'll enjoy warm weather!

@Linda, I'll be praying that you'll get snow! nodding nodding

@Char, beautiful photo! I tip my hat to you. Last year, I was planning to get a bunch of berry bushes to plant on the side of our yard next to "jerkwadd's" driveway, maybe even ILO my beloved dirt garden, that he sees every day when he gets in and out of his truck, and goes in and out of his drive, so the birds would, well, ahem, drop some "bombs" on his shiny red truck Whistling Green Grin! but now that we've buried the hatchet, I'll just keep the dirt garden and plant just a few on our side of the fence.....you know, less obvious!! Rolling on the floor laughing Whistling Whistling Angel I gotta have something for the birds, right? nodding nodding

@Rita, the view out your window sounds lovely! Smiling

Our temps have been a rollercoaster this week Blinking Today was shivering cold. Don't know what the high was, but it was hovering above freezing, but it "warmed up" as the evening progressed. Currently we're at 38F. Lows to drop to 36F. Winds out of the SSE at 8mph. The bitter cold winds coming out of the south, is really confusing me Confused , when NNW lake effect/noreasters typically gift us with the bitter cold. Hey southern friends, you may want to give Mother Nature a Christmas cookie or two! Whistling Hilarious! Anyway, 30% chance of rain tonight, after 4am. We'll have a couple more unseasonably warmer days, then things will get back to seasonable temperatures again. We may actually have snow for Christmas! At this juncture, the forecast is 60% chance of snow on Christmas Eve. Crossing Fingers!

I'm a little wound up, right now. Had coffee at my DB's house.... Glare I really should know better than to have coffee in the evening. D'Oh! Praying for sleep Blinking Crossing Fingers! If this keeps up, I probably could work my craft project I'm doing for the DH's present, while he's sawing logs!! Whistling Whistling Green Grin! He could really sleep through World War III Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Mostly cloudy. NW wind 5 to 10 mph.

Rita,
I wondered if the winterberry was bird food. Some shrub berries aren't. I love watching the birds from my kitchen.

Linda,
That's pretty cold. Will your plants take it?

Margaret,
I love snow globe snow. I'm glad that's what you have so you can enjoy it.

Arlene,
I don't like winter, but at least it does give me a break from gardening, lol!

Today I start cleaning and making soups for Christmas on the 24th. I'll make a double batch of chili and use two pint of oysters in the soup. Then it's on to pie. Rhubarb custard and pumpkin. Maybe tart cherry too. I also have apples to use.

I've been on vacation so I just skimmed. It looks like everyone is doing all right.

It was 36F this morning. They are calling for a high of 66F. There is a fire weather warning again, which means wind.

I don't have snow on cactus, but I do have hail on agave. 2005

We got about 8 more inches of snow last night, 30% chance of more today, cold at 14f degrees. It looks very beautiful with so much snow on everything, of course the weight on the evergreens is not good, hope the branches don't break. Sad
