| Years ago, we removed a wall between two rooms to create one large room. We left the corner as square pole for stability. Now every single child/your own children and their friends would walk into the house and put his and her dirty finger prints and shoe prints on that corner pole by either hugging it or pretending to climb up on it. So, after several weeks of cleaning away finger and foot prints I simply traced their feet and hands and painted them black. Problem solved!! Subsequent generations always insisted of adding their prints too. |

It's a great idea, Ursula. My daughter has a corner in her kitchen with similar hand print problems. I'm going to tell her to just dip their hands in some paint and put up a hand print for each child there every year. Much more fun than just measuring their heights.
