There is this brown spherical shaped "fungus" growing on my bushes in my yard, they are really hard and required a saw to cut open, once opened it looked like a potato on the inside and smelled like chlorophyll, What is this and is it a fungus?

Welcome! Is there any way you can post a picture? Do you know the names of the bushes that have them? Also what is the diameter of the "fungus" if you can't post a picture.

It may not be a fungus but I have a few pictures of the growth, and a few pictures of the bushes they are growing on not sure of the name of the bushes either

It is what is commonly called an air potato or potato (tater) vine. Dioscorea bulbifera
There are photos on this link to compare it to. Air Potato (Dioscorea bulbifera)

There are more than 500 species of these but this is common in the south and considered an old passalong plant.
The vine appears to be twining through your shrub and is really hurting nothing.
Be content moving inch by inch because, by days end, the inches, will add up to feet and yards.

Fulfilling ambitious objectives is usually done one step at a time.
