Isn't this a great annual for the hot summer months?!

I've just added some images, and I'm intruiged by the listing saying "unusual leaf colour". Mine are typically green but some are.....?

The Portulaca grandiflora cultivars are so much more beautiful than the P. oleracea varieties- the succulent, cylindrical leaves provide a beautiful, fine-textured accent, and a foil to the beautiful double, color-saturated 'rose-blossoms', which cover the plant. The only downside, in my opinion, is the fact that the flowers do not stay open for long- often for only half a day- but the plant breeders are gradually increasing the length of time of the floral display, and most new cultivars have flowers that stay open for most of the day.

@A_muse_mentality, Larry, this would be a wonderful comment added to the actual database entry itself for others to read. You can click on the link in the first post and click the Add a Comment on the left side.
