It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

I'm thankful that we have a comfortable life, and that our children are doing well and also have comfortable lives. I love my plants, my Rigel dog, and my sweet husband of almost 53 years.

Thankful for a wonderful husband who has put up with me for 40 years, happy healthy kids and grandchild.
Today I am thankful I got all the Christmas stuff away and still had time to watch one of my favorite Christmas movies, The Holiday, I had recorded.

I am thankful that even though it is way beyond bitter cold out that: I can provide food, shelter and water to the wildlife. I can provide a home for several pets. I am enjoying some inside hobbies (coin collecting, brick toy house building, jigsaw puzzle and reading.) I am in good health and so is my wonderful husband. I have a nice and comfortable life. I am also thankful for this garden site, way more fun than Facebook.

I am thankful that at this moment the outside temperature has risen to above 15 deg. I do worry about all the outside animals more than the humans.

Well despite the fact I do not have my car yet, I made a few trips with the other halves automobile and made sure I did not get back till after dark so I did see a few of the Christmas decorations set-up, up here.
Odd as despite again the fact it was a mild fall, decorations both here and down home are at best fifty percent of what they were just five years ago but I am happy most still use real light bulbs as the leds, to me, are blah at best.
I spent a little under fifty bucks for vintage Christmas light bulbs, lavender and canary yellow and want to get one more cloth covered large light string as I threw away one this year that shorted some where and the old ones had no fuses to pull.
I am thinking, as long as it keeps drawing water I may leave my tree up till Valentines Day, I have friends checking it. Sharon took hers all down two days ago.
I now have enough C7 Christmas bulbs that, if I did not care about huge variety later on, I will be long dead before I would need to buy more.
I still need some yellow C9 and have to get my C6 sets organized and running better.

I don't care for the LED lights either Thumbs down My tree stopped taking up water way too soon. I had it down the day after Christmas I was afraid I'd forget to turn off the lights. It was odd because we cut it fresh again before bringing in the house and drilled a hole in the bottom, never had one go that fast.

Again I'm thankful for a warm house Smiling

I'm thankful that even though I took Monday and Tuesday off, I am within an hour of finishing all the pain in the a** end of the quarter reports.

I'm thankful that my mom's service is over, and I was able to recount some remembrances of her at the service.
I'm happy to have seen many cousins and my aunt (mom's last surviving sister) Ethel. As difficult as it is to have this as a start to the year 2018, I did get to see them, and we all gave a great send-off to Mom. Lovey dubby
