Well said @Sscape, Greg. @Deryll has great ideas on crossing out some of those "tender" Fl, deep South and west coast pretty faces with good habits without sacrificing the other good characteristics.

Thanks Mike! I don't know if I can live up to that, but I give it a run for the money anyhow!

I am just happy that the plants I shipped out last year grew so well for our members, and hope
they all come up well this year also. The days are getting longer, so we will soon find out.

I am hoping that I don't lose many dls this winter. We have been zero for the first time in years! The evergreens may survive but I am focusing on adding SE and Dormant. They seem to do better and increase at a better rate for me. What are you guys experiencing?

I'm pretty sure I lost some new daylilies. I didn't have space for them all so some had to go in grow bags. They did great but the cold weather came way earlier than the past two years and got way colder too! I didn't get a chance to mulch them. We had some warm weather last weekend so I went outside and several of them heaved. I tried to replant some but the soil was frozen. I just threw some dead leaves and mulch over them but I know they are goners. The stuff in the ground looked okay but I didn't really give them a good look.

I usually go out in late March to early April to evaluate things in my garden. Put many in the ground in early December and mulched. Hope they make it. I plan on being a better gardener this year and better parent to my plants. Rolling on the floor laughing
