Plant ID forum: Unusual plant in southern Oregon yard, probably not native.

This plant has me flummoxed. I've never seen anything with a repeating pattern on each branch such as this...leaves, 'cone', leaves, 'cone', etc..
Just purchased this property in southern Oregon after a lifetime in Southeast Texas and have never encountered anything like this before...could be as common as dandelion around here.

Any help identifying this weird-beautiful plant is appreciated!

I second that, most likely Callistemon citrinus (Melaleuca citrina). When it flowers again it will be more clear

Thanks y'all, one of my friends suggested it might be a bottlebrush but I couldn't find a photo that represented exactly what I have here. With the scientific name pasted into google image search it seems clear. I appreciate your help (and can't wait to see it bloom)!
