Plant ID forum: What type of vine is this?

I found this vine climbing up a tree. My first impression was that it might be Rattan. or perhaps a grape vine. But i am not so sure. I just hope it isn't related to the poison ivy, poison oak family, as i would like to make a walking stick out of it.

I deeply apologized for the not so good quality of my photos, i cannot locate my batteries and charger for my DSLR camera.

It could be a grape vine, I think.

I cannot say what kind of vine it is but if you want a good strong walking stick, it's best to harvest a still-growing vine and dry it properly before shaving and shaping it into a walking stick. A well-made walking stick could last a lifetime.

It kind of reminds me of the wood of Southern Fox Grape (Vitis rotundifolia)
