Hi

I was taking a walk when I suddenly smelled a really nice scent, sort of had a vanilla scent to it. I realized it was coming from this tree...or maybe large shrub. Anyone know what this is. I live in San Diego county, near the coast. Zone 10a, sunset climate zone 24.

Then Macadamia tetraphylla is for you. (But don't plant one of those chocolate covered Macadamia nuts - you will be disappointed with the results.... Smiling )

Thank you for the acorn @carlysuko
I wish that tree is a good grower in my place too, but unfortunately not, plus their leaves are spiny. a cross between M integrifolia and tetraphyla also available, and suppose to be quicker grower.
So here I just stuck to other nuts Smiling
