I don't see anything in the pic to cause concern but one reason people throw plants away is if they see or think they see some kind of pest. Inspect closely.

Looks like a nice mature specimen. You could cut back a few of the stems quite hard to produce a more bushy plant as it will sprout from just below the cut stem.
