Oh, geee, and here I was thinking it was something really exciting like a drone gone rogue.

I grew these two colorful little water plants in my swimming pool last week. Sadly, they've gone again now. I still feel a bit like a steamroller flattened me, but recovering. We went to the beach to bring home all the sand, 3 trips it took. I'm sure Siesta beach is thinner now than it was last week.

On the plant front, I've had seeds of Everglades tomatoes in an old letter envelope for at least 4 years. Finally came across them and planted them out (a "What the heck" moment) Would you believe it, they germinated! Perhaps for the first summer in 15 years I'll have tomatoes growing through the summer. From what I hear they're tiny but delicious.

Absolutely precious! Cherish those early years. My son is bringing our grandson, 13, up for a few days next month. DIL and granddaughter, 17, will be off looking at colleges. Yikes, when did they get so old, heck, when did I get so old?????

Those are my favorite water plants! Smiling What fun they are!

Perhaps I should place a potted up Tomato plant this Summer into the cage, that would be the only way to grow them in this zoo around here.

Same here Ursula. I tried growing cherry tomatoes in big pots up on the deck and the Cardinals, who consider the deck theirs, ate the little tomatoes. I would need a cage like you have.

Hey, Ursula. my last adenium seed-pod has opened, so I have got fresh seeds again. Perhaps I will germinate them when I get to Florida next month...........perhaps not. To say the least, I will have a lot of stuff on my plate then. Whistling

That's a novel idea, Ursula. I gotta get my brain wrapped around the fact that I can start and grow tropicals outside year 'round. I have never had that prospect. Rolling my eyes.

LOVE the water plants Elaine, they are adorable!

I have no idea what this is, and it isn't mine, I just spotted it on the way to my show last weekend and HAD to pull over for a picture!

This camellia, a very large plant, was essentially stripped of all its buds by squirrels. For some reason they did not bother this one branch. Perhaps they felt sorry for me. Whistling
The stuff on the leaves is not scale it is just the typical pine pollen we suffer with during spring.

With a complicated name like this it ought to be an orchid. Hilarious!

Yeah, that's a mouthful, Alice.

Does anyone in the south-central areas of Florida grow Hosta, and if so, do they grow and bloom well without getting good, hard freezes? I have 4-5 sought-after varieties that I badly need to divide (9 yr. old plants) and I was going to take some with me when I moved. I will still divide them but won't bother taking them with me if they don't do well. I will be living in Vero Beach.

Agree with Lindsey. They really do need a good cold winter chill to do well. There are some "new" varieties called Sun Hosta that reportedly will "survive" in Florida. I'm not ok with a plant simply surviving, either, frankly.

Love the pretty little maple, Alice. Despite the name.

Did I show these off before? These are my UF experimental tomatoes. Everyone agrees they are very tasty. Productive and disease resistant, as well. What's not to like?

They look yummy, I am so ready for warm, fresh tomato, weather. Sighing!

One of my neighbors moved here, from the northeast, with over 400 hostas, most quite rare - almost all of them promptly bit the dust. It was so sad.
