Hi, a friend of my partner's asked me to identify this plant but I'm really stuck on it!

At present I don't have any more information about the plant other than these photos, but I will be able to ask her tomorrow.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know!

It looks possibl yrelated to the 60-80 species of Tradescantia, but I don't know which one. Commonly they are known as "wandering Jews." That name can be a bit disparaging but it's the most common and widespread one for them. I've also seen them called spiderworts but other plants are called that, too.

It looks like it may need more light. Does it normally live in that corner?

That makes more sense. I had thought it was a Wandering Jew stretching for light.
