Hello everyone! So let me start with I have never grown Blueberries or Blackberries before...

I have had a blueberry and blackberry plant for almost a year now. After the first 2 months they started dropping leaves showing rust colored spots but still growing steadily. At the moment I have 2 plants that are basically bare branches with a small cluster of leaves at the tip of each one. The branches have clear nodules that look like buds but no new growth is coming out. Any ideas on what's going on or remedies that would help get them into an environment that would make them "happy" would be greatly appreciated.
(I live in south east Florida 9b)
Thank you!

Did you plant varieties suitable for your warm weather? Are they in pots or the ground?

Some photos would help.

Hi Daisy,

So the blueberries are Emerald, I don't remember which ones the blackberries are. Bought them at a nursery and was told they would do fine in Florida. The 2 I mentioned earlier are planted in larger pots. They are planted in potting soil with compost and have a straw and pine bark mulch. I do have 4 other Emerald blueberries in the ground. I was told to add pine bark into the soil so I mixed some in before I put them in the ground. (same soil mixer as the ones in the pots) Some pictures attached below:

These are some images from shortly after I planted to a few months after. (they are in the big pots closest to the planter in the last picture)
