I don't see any resemblance to African violets. What make you think so?

I really don't know gesneriads that well, but it looks a whole lot more like some kind of Primulina or Chirita to me.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

Most certainly not an African Violet.

An Asian Violet, yes most likely. I believe is a Primulina/Chirita but we shall soon see. I'm rapidly learning that the Gesneriaceae is expansive and somewhat unknown. Exciting!)

A few update images too...

Since you live in Florida where it's not all that cold, maybe you could take the plant outside in better lighting and take photos.??

Definitely Primulina (formerly known as Chrita) but many of them look so much alike that it might be impossible to get an exact ID (cultivar name) unless you can track down the nursery or grower where it came from. Although leaf length and shape may differ, many of them have variegated foliage and lavender/lilac flowers. For comparison, here's one I found in our database with variegated leaves:

Also, check out some of these photos at Lyndon Lyons Greenhouse; there are few listed that have variegated foliage: http://lyndonlyon.com/store/in...

Thanks so much for that link Lin! Hurray!

I'm pretty sure I've found a match there.

Looks like a Destiny to me, especially with all the buds on each stem.

Thank You! Thanks again, I'm not so patiently waiting for my other unknown to bloom again... I'll post some updated pics there as well.
