Is this plant considered an evergreen? What is that "seed pod" called? So delicate of a plant to have a heavy pod. You captured the juxtaposition beautifully.
Its easy for me to believe in miracles when science can't explain why a blade of grass has its shape and that is just one plant and one attribute.

@Lioba, Anita as I know it they remain in our climate at least, evergreen. The flower as it depletes turns into a rustic woody cone; I will upload some photos of these. Cockatoos love to get the seeds inside of them as they mature too.

An evergreen that flowers, very nice. I love cockatoos. I babysat one for a friend during my teen years. If ever I had one I would know what to feed it!
