I have recently received a Jade plant from my parents, it was doing fine but some of the leaves are turning thin red/brown and are falling off. They are also quite limp. Does anyone have any advice they can give me? Thanks.

Healthy jades have plump leaves. If your leaves are turning thin and eventually drop off it sounds like it is not getting enough water.
We can be of more assistance if we know about the size of the pot, the soil, the location in the home, the amount of sun light.

I had a large jade plant once under a grow light bulb. I gave it too much water, which led to the roots rotting and the leaves turning thin and dropping off.

It can die both ways.

Very true because in both instances the root system is compromised.
