The leaves remind me of Fatsia (Fatsia japonica) but I don't think those buds aren't quite right for Fatsia.

Not a Fig or Fatsia (or Fatshedera either).. Would like to see a better picture of the flowers to help narrow it down.. Very intriguing...

It may be a JATROPHA. Check out the images on Yahoo. A number of the images look like a match.

Good eye @Monetwwqi! Thumbs up

Those little flower buds were throwing me but I think it might very well be a variety of Jatropha

The leaves don't appear divided enough for Coral Plant (Jatropha multifida) but there are others with similar leaves to those in toy747's photo; one for comparison: Bellyache Bush (Jatropha gossypiifolia)

I'm really thinking it might be Bellyache Bush (Jatropha gossypiifolia)

The ID plant appears to have the petiole appendages as in this pic of J. gossypiifolia also:

I agree it looks just like J. gossypiifolia, tho I've never seen one without a hint of any reddish coloring in the leaves or (at the very least) leaf veins. But there very well could be green variants, particularly if this one is grown in all or mostly shade.
