Hi Coleus lovers:
This is a current pic of a coleus I am overwintering. Both plants are a cutting from the same parent. They are growing in the same room but at different windows. I was considering putting it in my plant list, but realized I have no idea of an ID. Is it doomed to being a john doe or Noid?
I have done a fairly extensive search online, but don't feel qualified to make a definitive id that others will take as the gospel.
Is id'ing a coleus with such a lack of information even plausible?
Any guesses will be very fun and interesting. Thanks.

Laurie, Sorry I have no guess, but both of them are just beautiful. You have done a wonderful job of overwintering them both. Will be looking for some of seeds that might look like them and try next year to overwinter. Best to you

There are thousands of named cultivars. Knowing where it was purchased sometimes helps with ID if the selection is published on a website.

Compare to 'Watermelon', a more common one because it can be reproduced via seeds:

I went looking around a bit again for an ID on my coleus, and I believe I found it right in our database.

Series: Kongโ„ข
Trade Name: Rose
Cultivar name: 'Kakegawa CE14'

As soon as I saw the name I remembered purchasing it in terrible shape at Lowes for $1.00. The leaves were huge in summer, but are average size under artificial light. Thanks for the feedback all. I am anxious to see if the leaves will be large again, when outdoors.
