This is one of two new Epimedium cultivars that I'll will be introduced through Garden Vision Epimediums in Massachusetts, possibly in Autumn 2018 (if sufficient stock), otherwise Spring 2018.

Garden Vision Epimediums has the most comprehensive offering of true-to-name Epimedium in North America. They also sell fine woodland plants, including hardy woodland Iris introduced from Korea & unusual bloodroot varieties (Sanguinaria).

The second introduction for 2018 is called Epimedium 'Short Story', it's an unusual hybrid between the Chinese species E. brachyrrhizum and the Japanese E. grandiflorum, capturing the best attributes of both parents. The large silvery pink flowers are abundant and held above the bronzy mottled foliage.

Epimedium 'Short Story', emerging foliage is a striking bronze color, blends beautifully with the soft pink flowers.

Epimedium 'Short Story', maturing foliage turns green with soft red mottling.

As with many Epimedium, particularly with grandiflorum, there is a second flush of leaf growth after flowering, in this cultivar it picks up bold foliage colors from the brachyrrhizum parent, with a brilliant display of bright red markings and mottling.

Thanks Rick, I have a bunch more hybrid selections in the pipeline, now that I'm retired I hope to get things moving among faster. I got these two out last year, hoping to get about 5-6 new ones propagated and ready to go out to a nursery by mid-late summer.
