Recently moved to the area of Tyler TX and saw that several of my trees needed trimming or pruning. Should I
do it now or wait till later in the spring?

It depends upon what kind of trees you are talking about. Fruit trees, do it now.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming...."WOW What a Ride!!" -Mark Frost
