I bought this Staghorn, it is too large to hang from anywhere in my yard. I am forced to cut it up and remount on multiple boards and baskets. I live in Tampa FL and we are still experiencing temps in the low 40's on occasion. Is it best to wait for the warm weather to return before cutting up the plant?

Welcome!

It seems a shame to cut up such a beautiful plant (I don't even know if that's possible). Can you sell it and buy some smaller ones?
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming...."WOW What a Ride!!" -Mark Frost
