Does anybody have experience buying plants via Ebay? I'm tempted to buy a few Calatheas.

I've bought a lot of plants on ebay. Check out their feedback. I have had no luck buying seeds. I have had great luck with plants. If the feed back is good, go for it!

Yes, I have bought and sold plants on ebay. I agree with Karen, look at the feedback.

The most important thing in winter is to watch the weather. In some parts of the country the plants will get frozen when in transit. I have had sellers use heat packs but they had battered the plant being shipped so I am apprehensive about using them as well.

It is fun to shop for plants on ebay. It opens a wide world of plants I can find locally. Have fun!
Be content moving inch by inch because, by days end, the inches, will add up to feet and yards.

Fulfilling ambitious objectives is usually done one step at a time.

98% of my house plants came from eBay. Watch the S&H. Many sellers try to make all their profit off inflated S&H. Gene

I have been doing eBay for a long time. I teach a class at UW in Madison on eBay. I think it is a great resource but it does scare many people away - until they take my class. My favorite example of a seller gouging S&H: I often use empty egg cartons for packing when I ship something. It occurred to me once that maybe I could buy some misprinted "seconds" off eBay. Found some. $2. a dozen, with $10. S&H. Really? How much do empty eggs cartons weigh? I wanted mass quantities. Contacted the seller and asked about bulk pricing. No problem he replied. I have lots and they will be $2. a dozen no matter what quantity. How about S&H I asked. No problem he says - $10. per dozen. Sigh. Gene
