There are lots of basils I don't have, but, yes, I did go a bit basil crazy.
Lately it's been beans and winter squashes. I am on a quest for a green bean that tastes good and has a pleasing texture after being frozen, and so far many varieties have failed. Sand Hill Preservation touted Slenderette as being a good one for freezing, but it turned to mush for me no matter how long or how little I blanched it.
We love winter squashes, and again I am searching for one we like as well as Ambercup, a hybrid that I can no longer find seeds for. I hate how some of our favorites just disappear without warning. Merced and San Remo tomatoes were two of our favorites. I searched for years for seeds with no luck, but this year I found San Remo seeds and a supposedly OP version of Merced. I'm excited that we might possibly have those tomatoes or very similar ones back in our garden.
