Why would my lepismium cruciforme be getting dried, hard tips? Is this from underwatering?

Shriveling indicates lack of moisture, which has 2 basic causes for a potted, indoor plant. One is that there is no moisture for roots to deliver to foliage. The other is that the roots have become damaged & unable to deliver moisture to foliage.

What is your watering regimen? How dry do you let your plant get before you water again? Are you watering on a schedule? Do you soak the plant completely when you do water?
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming...."WOW What a Ride!!" -Mark Frost

I water when dry or when I remember. I water until I see was water come out the bottom.
