Sorry to hear about the weather and the hospital being so bad. I guess the important thing is the outcome and it seems your husband made it and is doing pretty good now, even if there is a lot of pain for the next few days. I know pain is hard to deal with, for the patient and the care giver. You feel so helpless sometimes when the person you love is looking at you and asking for help and there is very little you can actually do for them.
Don't be in too big of a hurry to get out of there, let the weather improve a little before trying to make that trip back home.

What a terrible time for the weather to turn bad! I'm very relieved to hear that R had a successful operation and is recuperating at the hospital, although I hope the patients get better care than the visitors. Such was the case when my DH had his spine operated on, and I was trapped in the Waiting Room From Hell for what seemed like eternity, with no refreshments, nowhere to put DH's wheelchair, sitting in the mandatory uncomfortable chairs, listening to a TV permanently playing medical infomercials and kids playing repetitive jingle-emitting games on their hand-held devices. Meanwhile, in the recovery ward, nurses were singing to DH and providing him with everything he needed. Definitely stay another night at the Hilton - you deserve it!
