Your article on starting beets and turnips from seed suggests planting the seeds 1 inch apart in dense rows 15 inches wide. Could you elaborate on the thinning process? What sort of rake? How deeply should I push? How early on should I thin the bed? Since my raised beds are 30 inches wide can I plant the bed 30 inches wide? Thanks.
